LAWRENCE HOSPITAL WORKERS UNITE!
1199SEIU healthcare workers are stronger together
LAWRENCE HOSPITAL WORKERS FROM CNAS TO PHARMACY TECHS ARE 1199 UNION STRONG
At the end of July, roughly 500 of our colleagues, including housekeepers, transport workers, radiology aides, and more, voted overwhelmingly to join 1199SEIU.
“With our union, we can finally build a better future for ourselves” said Judith Jimenez, a CNA.
“Together, we made our voices heard, and together we won!” said Tara Benjamin, a Lead Phlebotomist. “Now the real work begins!”
Nearly 90% of our colleagues voted in support of forming a union, showing the power of standing together for better jobs, stronger wages and benefits, and a voice in patient care.
Now it’s our turn. When we join our 1199 colleagues across the Merrimack Health system, Lawrence Hospital workers will have an even stronger voice for ourselves and the patients we serve.
Tech and BOC workers: Let’s keep the momentum going, come together and join 1199SEIU!
As 1199SEIU hospital workers, we are stronger together
Over 450,000 healthcare workers have united in 1199SEIU to win power and a real say in our jobs, including over 35,000 professional and technical members. The collective strength and expertise of our union allows 1199SEIU members to negotiate strong contracts that advance the needs of our individual professions and improve patient care.
With the right to negotiate a union contract and the strength of our union, 1199SEIU hospital workers have won higher pay, training & education opportunities, affordable healthcare, and job protections, as well as a strong, effective voice in staffing, scope of practice, and patient care. We believe joining our Lawrence Hospital colleagues in 1199SEIU is our best opportunity to improve our working conditions and improve the quality of care we provide.
Our Patients Are Counting On Us
Government Voice
Our jobs, and healthcare, are highly regulated, and 1199SEIU is the most influential voice for hospital workers in the government and regulatory arena. We’ve fought for and won:
Healthcare funding
Patients’ rights
Licensure for laboratory practitioners, respiratory therapists, & social workers
1199SEIU hospital workers at Merrimack Health and across Massachusetts say: Join us!
